Mop plates are installed on the pull-side of the door with the assumption that this side doesn't get the frequent 'kicks' from feet or banging from carts usually associated with the front-side. As a result a smaller plate can be installed to protect the base from things like the bumps and dings of push brooms, vacuum cleaners and mops. Mop plates are 4", 6" or 8" high.
